About Dispatch	English (USA)
This mailing list is for members in good standing of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. The Dispatch is a moderated list. This means most messages are held for review and approval before posting. List Rules: 1 - Blatant attacks on fellow members will not be allowed. 2 - You must provide the minimum acceptable signature on each message you send. 3 - Do not leave the Subject: field blank. 4 - Change the Subject as needed to accurately describe the message content. 5 - No advertising. The single exception is SCV fundraisers where the SCV receives all proceeds. 6 - No soliciting or recruiting for other groups and organizations will be allowed. The SCV neither favours nor opposes any other heritage related group. 7 - Colorful language must be masked. [e.g. s**t] 8 - Do not type in all capital letters. Do not capitalize each word. Do not write in all red letters. Use words in all capital or red letters to emphasize certain words only. 9 - Politics as a topic of discussion will be limited to that which affects the SCV and its mission. 10 - Unless otherwise indicated, all content is the personal property of the member posting the message Copyright 2008. It is not to be shared with anyone outside of this list for any reason without the express permission of the owner. Violations of this policy will not be tolerated. 11 - Everyone is expected to follow the rules of netiquette. For more information do a Google search for "netiquette". 12 - We reserve the right to disallow any message if we feel doing so is in the best interest of the SCV. 13 - Maximum allowable message size is 1 MB. Let's be considerate of our members who use a dial-up (slow) connection.
Using Dispatch
To post a message to all the list members, send email to dispatch@scvmail.net. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to Dispatch
Subscribe to Dispatch by filling out the following form as indicated. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. Once confirmation is received, your request will be held for approval by the list moderator. You will be notified of the moderator's decision by email. This is also a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your E-mail Address:   Your Full Name / SCV ID Number      Required: Enter Both Name and ID Number   NOTE: The Commander or Adjutant of your camp can supply your SCV ID number. If you encounter a problem or have questions contact: List Administrator You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options. Once a month, your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.
